British military dog Mali, received the PDSA Dickin medal the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross. Pictured with his handler, corporal Danny Hatley. Mali, a Belgian Malinois, has been awarded the honour for detecting explosives during an assault on a Taliban position in Afghanistan.
